Testimonials
I was first introduced to MNB by another satisfied client.
I checked out their website and then contacted Christi. She was invaluable
helping me navigate getting a passport and visa. Unlike other companies I
contacted, MNB made a specific plan of medical care for me. They insisted
on clearance by my primary care MD, labs, mammogram and a complete medical
history from me. As a R.N. I was very pleased by their attention to detail.
My flight was very long and I was very tired but very excited. When I met
the Concierge I was relieved that she was fluent in English. Before surgery
I met with both the MD and anesthesiologist . The surgical plans were
reviewed. Many of the staff at the hospital also spoke English.
After surgery, I had a private nurse who, again, was fluent in English. She
was focused on me and catered to my needs and interpreted as needed with the
hospital staff. When I was discharged and returned to my hotel suite, she
stayed with me for 24 hours. I totally loved the lymphatic massage
everyday.
Unfortunately, I did have some complications but the MD and his nurse came
directly to my suite on a Sunday evening to tend to the problem. During my
extended recovery, the nurse came to my hotel room daily and the MD on
several occasions in between office visits. I was never without the
concierge when I went to the MD or any medical treatments.
I would feel comfortable referring anyone to MNB. As a matter of fact, I
have plans to finish my reconstruction through MNB in the future.

I have the highest regards for (my surgeon) ... You do not need anyone with you. Mednetbrazil took care of me and I would do it all over again there … (They) will be my life long friends. Sharon B., TN

... And because it was affordable and he was doing it all at once I got a result that can take years to accomplish in the USA (if at all) ...I feel amazed that I have the body I have now given what he started with!

Even with all of my prior research, and experience working at hospitals, I still worried about the unknown. Let me assure you that MedNet Brazil, (the surgeon) and their staff will take extremely good care of you..., and don't worry--even with surgery, and the help of MedNet, you can have a wonderful time.

That idea also pertains to this board regarding plastic surgery IMO... Again, I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time, but the concept of having to 'settle' (for a foreign surgeon) … is wrong I think... I really feel, after having done tons of research, that not only is (it) the only affordable option for most of us, but truly is the match or superior of any plastic surgeon in the US . If I won the lottery tomorrow I would STILL go to Brazil for my plastics (I would just take everyone in the family along with me! - this is my only downside..) And I don't doubt for a second that the patient care is FAR better there. Everyone thought I was crazy to go to TIJUANA (LOL!!) for my Lapband, but guess what...I've never had such a good experience in a hospital...

I've had several people say things like 'you get what you pay for' (don't ya love that one?)...certainly a catchy phrase, but most certainly not necessarily true, particularly when it comes to the American health care system. As usual though, it all boils down to doing your homework and being comfortable with your choice(s) before you commit. ….. And Christie and her team make the experience possible.
Down from the soapbox ..(or as my daughter would say "shutting up now...")

During my research, I joined a yahoo group which had members discussing their plastic surgeons following their weight loss... That's when I first "met" Christi (who later formed MedNetBrazil). Christi shared her pictures and her story... and her plastic surgeon :-) I got on the plane..... knowing that if I didn't feel comfortable after I got there that I would rest a few days and just come back home.... HOWEVER.... all my expectations were EXCEEDED!!!!!!

Thank you Christi for providing a vaulable service for Americans traveling to Brazil. It was an amazing transformation from being overweight a few years ago to what I look like now!... I have had doors opened up to me that would have not been possible a few years ago….

I don't post on here very much, but I had to comment on this. I have
never experienced such kindness and caring anymore than I did while
in Brazil. I was there in June 2003 and had TT, vertical incision, lipo of
back, knees and thighs, breast lift with implants, thigh lift and arm
lift. I have never been taken care of so well! I developed a seroma
on one of my breasts. After I came back home it became infected and
resulted in having the implant removed. The plastic surgeon here
charged $1200 for 15 minutes worth of surgery! And wants to charge
$4000 to reinsert another implant . As far as having confidence in (MedNetBrazil), I've already bought my plane tickets to go back
to have another implant reinserted in Brazil! …These
girls work their butts off to accommodate all of us. It takes an
enormous amount of time and energy to get everything synchronized as
well as what they have in such a short period of time. The amount of
money they make could not compensate them for the time and effort
involved. I could not have afforded to have had the surgeries I did
here in the States. As far as I'm concerned, they deserve every penny
and more. They are the best!!!!

Going to Brazil and having EVERY need met, emotional and physical...a skilled, caring, gifted surgeon who cares. AND being able to afford to do so? PRICELESS!!! This experience was fantastic, the value extraordinary. The people, ....in my heart forever.

...MedNetBrazil was there for me all the way. (MedNetBrazil) had everything
co-coordinated before hand and most things went like clock-work.
However, Brazilians move at a slower pace than Americans. So try
and relax, everything will fall into place, just be patient. The concierge is so sweet and helpful. She has a great sense of
humor (which is needed) and her English is impeccable. .... She became my friend.
.....These people work their butts off for us.
.....I was impressed
with the entire team. They are hard working and professional in
every way.
.....
The Brazilian experience on the whole was positive. I have a new
appreciation for all the work going on behind the scenes to pull
this whole thing off. (The doctor) and staff including the
anesthesiologists are cautious and will not jeopardize your health.
I ended up receiving four units of Brazilian blood, so I suppose I
can count myself part Brazilian now. Ha!!
So if you are out there lurking or seriously thinking of going to
Brazil to complete your journey as a WLS survivor, I would highly
recommend it.
Grace be with you, mercy and peace.

Hi all,
I just got home from the Las Vegas convention a little while ago and it was
fantastic.… What a difference from the (plastic surgeons) that I consulted in Southern
and Northern California. I am going to feel very safe in their hands and
with the services of Christi, I know things will go well. Her management of
the convention was so perfect. Everything went off just as she had said it
would. I look forward to going next year as a post-op. This was such a
worthwhile experience and I highly recommend anyone thinking about going to
Brazil to go to the next convention and meet these fantastic doctors and the
beautiful/sweet Christi and her fantastic crew (you know who you are!). I
went to this feeling very low and discouraged and came away feeling like a
million. Hugs & Kisses to all, Marge

I am not a post-op, but will be leaving five weeks from today for my NEW BODY. I am selling my house to finance this trip and am not having any second thoughts at all about it. I have also been unemployed for the past 11 months. Fortunately, I have a wonderful family and a VERY best friend whose home I will be living in.
The analogy that I am using in questioning the amount of money I am spending for this is:
I paid more for my car than what I will be paying for my trip to Brazil. I will trade in my car within a few years...I won't be trading in this body.
I am definitely doing the right thing. We can always second guess ourselves about anything that we do in life. I know that Christi and the MedNetBrazil team will take care of us. Since I have booked the trip, I have had many instances happen that have confirmed this is the right thing to do. I am not an overly religious person, but I do believe in God and know that he will take care of me. I also know that the others in this group are always praying for the well being of all of us. I even myself, stopped the other day at a chapel of perpetual adoration and lit a candle for ALL of us: Pre-ops for help in making their decision, those who are in Brazil now and post-ops for their generosity in sharing their experiences. Hugs
